What is Digital or Direct to Garment Printing?
Digital printing or direct to garment printing as it is sometimes known as the process of printing full colour images and logos onto a variety of cotton garments. The cotton content in the garment can have as much of an impact on the final result of the image as the artwork itself - we recommend not going below 80% cotton for the best results.
We are happy to recommend our favourite garments that we have tried and tested this method of printing on.Unlike screen printing, which can include set up fees depending on quantity, DTG is perfect for short runs of full-colour prints, with no minimum order, for a range of clothing.
One great advantage of digital printing is the softness of the print onto dark shirts, this can make a massive difference to the feel of the shirt if your design uses a large block of colour.
For best results artwork needs to be high-quality png, pdf or vector file. Maximum print size is 14" x 16"
With digital printing, the price will vary depending on the brand, quantity, amount of colours and type of garment we print on. Unsure? We can advise you on a solution relative to your budget.
High resolution, detailed prints, soft to touch prints; minimum order of one; lasts well. NO MINIMUM ORDER
Advantages of Direct to Garment Printing
One great advantage of digital printing is the softness of the print onto dark shirts; this can make a massive difference to the feel of the shirt if your design uses a large block of colour. A pre-treatment process is used on dark garments during printing –we suggest washing the garment before you wear it. For best results, wash the garment inside out and do not iron of the print.
For a high-quality print, artwork needs to be a high-quality png, pdf or vector file – the print is only as good as your artwork. Our maximum print size is up to 14" x 16".
With digital printing, the price of the print itself will vary depending on the quantity ordered and size of the print. Please contact us directly for our price breakdowns and we will be happy to quote accordingly.
